David Beckham has been reunited with Zinedine Zidane in LA – and says that he is “proud” of his managerial achievements.
Beckham and Zidane formed part of a legendary Real Madrid midfield for three years before the Frenchman’s retirement in 2006.
But the pair have hooked up once again as Real prepare for the defence of their Champions League and La Liga titles this season.
Los Blancos are currently training in California, where they have already taken on Manchester United and will also face off against Manchester City, Barcelona and the MLS All-Stars.
Zidane became the first manager ever to defend the Champions League last season as Real romped to victory over Juventus in Cardiff.
And Beckham says that it was a “special” season for Real and he is delighted to see his former team-mate do so well.
Beckham said: “Last season was a special one. The final months of the season were incredible.
“To see the team play as they did made me very proud. I’m very happy to see Zidane doing such a good job. Everyone likes Zidane.”
Beckham posed for photographs alongside Zidane and also Raul, who played alongside the pair during their time at the Bernabeu as players.
He also greeted a host of the current Real squad, including Gareth Bale, Sergio Ramos and Luke Modric.
Real face off against City in the early hours of Thursday morning before taking part in a rare El Clasico on foreign soil, when they take on Barcelona on Saturday night.
