Real Madrid and Barcelona are set to meet twice for an early season El Clasico duel for the Spanish Super Cup.
The La Liga giants will play two matches in August with the first leg taking place at the Nou Camp on August 13 and the second leg being played at the Bernabeu four days later on August 16.
The two sides are going head-to-head in the annual fixture between the La Liga winners and Copa del Rey holders.
A statement on Real Madrid’s website read: T’he General Assembly of the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) have released the official schedule for next season. Real Madrid will face Barcelona in the two leg Spanish Super Cup clash.
‘The first leg will be played on Sunday 13th August, at the Camp Nou, while the return leg will be played on Wednesday 16th at the Santiago Bernabeu’.
Barcelona, by their own huge standards, endured a disappointing campaign after finishing second to Real and were knocked out of the Champions League by Juventus in the quarter-finals as their Spanish counterparts went on to lift the trophy.
Now managed by Ernesto Valverde, the Catalans will be desperate to get early revenge on Zinedine Zidane’s side in the Spanish curtain-raiser.
