Marsellie is considering snubbing Barça for Real because he wants to play for his childhood hero Zidane

Real Madrid and Barcelona battle for Spanish supremacy more often than not. Now, as per Sun, the two heavyweights are looking to one up the other off the field as well, by signing the Marseille wonderkid, Maxime Lopez.

Both the clubs have a couple of incentives which could tip the deal in one way or the other. For Madrid, it’s their Galactico boss, Zinedine Zidane. Maxime is a huge fan of the World Cup winner. Zidane, too, acknowledges the brilliance of the 19-year-old and has praised him immensely. “He is small, but his style of play is fascinating. I really like his personality. He runs a lot, sacrifices himself and allows others to play,” he said.

Barcelona, on the other hand, will keep faith on their club icon, Andoni Zubizarreta, who takes care of the transfers in Marseille. Maxime has a specific style of play, similar to the maestro, Andres Iniesta’s. The Frenchman has been in impressive form for quite some time now and has the ability to change the outcome of a tie single-handedly.

Ousmane Dembele, Barcelona’s latest acquisition, is a close friend of Maxime’s, which could also make things easier for the Catalonian side. The Los Blancos though have managed to lure in some fine prospects over the last few seasons with Dani Ceballos being the latest player to snub their hated rivals in favour of the Madrid outfit.
