Real Madrid midfielder Isco is happy with the role he’s been given in the recent games, as he has been getting to play in his natural position, closer to the area.
Real Madrid were looking at a disappoint result Getafe over the weekend, but the introduction of Isco in the dying minutes changed the entire complexion of the match. The Spaniard took charge of the middle and kept troubling the hosts every opportunity he got.
He finally set up Cristiano Ronaldo with an over the top through ball, which turned out to be the most important moment of the match.
When asked about his purple patch, Isco talked about the hardwork he’s been putting in.
“Without hardwork I wouldn’t be in my position,” he said during a press conference ahead of Real’s Champions League bout against Tottenham, reported Marca.
“I’m now playing more in my natural position, a little bit closer to the area, and I’m playing with more consistency, which is good for my confidence.”
Isco also recognised the competition in the Los Blancos squad and wants to hold extend his fine of form as far as possible.
He added: “This is a team and there are moments when some players are performing better and some worse. The key is to find some balance in the squad. I hope that I can be consistent for some time, as I’m happy with my situation right now.”
