Valencia CF forward Simone Zaza has been named the La Liga Santander Player of the Month for September. The Italian hitman’s key contributions last month for Los Che have seen him receive the award for the first time in his career.

Zaza struck four times towards the end of September, helping Valencia keep within touch ing distance of the top of the table. He was his side’s star man in their 5-0 thrashing of Malaga CF, scoring a wonderful hat-trick, and also found the net in the following game, a 3-2 away win over Real Sociedad. Aside from his goalscoring exploits, Zaza always offers plenty off the ball, helping to create space for his teammates.
