James Rodriguez’s loan from Real Madrid to Bayern Munich may be cut short in favour of a move to the USA.

Don Balon reports the Colombian’s two-year loan from Los Blancos may be cancelled in January amid rumours that several Major League Soccer outfits are monitoring his situation in the Bavarian capital.

Bayern’s sacking of Carlo Ancelotti, who brought him to the Allianz Arena, has not helped the 26-year-old’s cause and under new coach Jupp Heynckes his future looks even more uncertain as he is currently out of favour.

James is also a reported target for Serie A giants Milan, Juventus and Inter Milan, with Madrid understood to want the player to remain in Europe in order to guarantee more competitive football.

The Spanish club reason that James’ value would remain higher if he was playing permanently in one of the top leagues, meaning they could recoup a part of the €80m they paid Monaco for his services over three years ago.

James was a regular under Ancelotti when he was in charge at the Bernabeu but struggled to get into the team after Zinedine Zidane took over.
