Zidane: I’m not the best…

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane claims that he does not feel he is the best coach in the world and is still pondering as to why was he being going to receive the ‘best coach in the world’ award.

The French legend refused to take responsibility of his team’s successes on the pitch by stating that Real Madrid as a club is the greatest club, not any coach.

Speaking ahead of Real Madrid’s La Liga match against Eibar on Sunday, Zidane told Marca, “I do not feel that way. I feel that I’m in the best club in the world, but the other way around? Not at all.”

Madrid go into the match against Eibar with five first team players still unavailable coupled with his team’s poor start to the new La Liga campaign.

Speaking about Madrid’s recent slump in form, Zidane stated, “We play every three days and we know that we have seven games before another break. We had two days to recover and we’re fine.”

Zidane continued by stating that the criticism of his players especially Karim Benzema as well as other players is wrong. He stated, “Karim will not score 60 goals but he’s going to score 30 and he’s going to assist for 40 more and that’s what matters to me the most.”

He concluded by specifying, “It’s annoying to hear trash talking about my players, and I want to clarify that for me, Karim is the best [centre-forward] by far.”
