Soon to be Real Madrid’s next superstar, Vinicius Jr was sent off for Flamengo in a bizarre incident against Botafogo just 10 minutes after coming on from the bench.
The Brazilian was introduced in the 71st minute of the game with his team leading and the role he was supposed to play was to put the match to bed on counter-attack as Flamengo sat deep defending their lead.
As reported before regarding the rough treatment being handed out to Vinicius in Brazil after his move to Real Madrid, Botafogo players kicked and fouled him a lot early on in the game. As a teenager, it is obvious that one would explode after repeated aggression hurled towards him.

Just ten minutes after being brought into the game, Vinicius slid into a challenge on Igor Rabello and the referee didn’t hesitate to show the Brazilian superstar a straight red card.
Visibly angered on himself, Vinicius was then subject to tremendous hatred and abuses by rival fans and gestures intending to threaten him were made. What’s particularly interesting is Neymar received the same treatment from Santos’ opponents’ fans during the beginning of his career in Brazil.
