Leo Messi: ‘We want to get rid of the bad taste and win the World Cup’

Barcelona No.10 has discussed the upcoming Russia World Cup and Argentina’s prospects.
“We owe ourselves a World Cup title. We don’t owe the fans anything because we always give us all. We got to three finals but it wasn’t to be because God didn’t want it to be.”

“We want to get rid of the bad taste and be able to win the World Cup. To be so close and not manage it on previous occasions was a disappointment for all of us.”

“We feel that it’s now or never. Because there’s nothing else, we have to think that this could be the last and prepare for it in that way.”

“I didn’t watch the final against Germany. When I lose it hurts and I cry like all my teammates because I am one of them.”

“The reality is that right now we’re not among the favourites to win the World Cup, there are much better national teams.”
