As reported in Wednesday’s Times, Manchester City have a fresh issue with Gabriel Jesus.

The 20-year-old Brazilian has largely impressed since joining Man City from Palmeiras in January 2017. Jesus is under contract at the Etihad Stadium until 2021, however the Sky Blues want to secure the striker for the longer term.
City have tried to lock Jesus down to a new contract, but it’s now been confirmed those talks have stalled.

It is understood that Jesus knocked back City’s latest offer, worth around £90,000 per week, earlier this month.
The offer represented a pay rise of around 40 per cent as Jesus is on around £65,000 per week at present, but the striker’s advisors are holding out for a deal in excess of £100,000 per week.
The proposal also included a two-year contract extension that would have tied him to City until 2023.
In an injury -hit season, Jesus has 11 goals and 5 assists in 32 games for Man City in all competitions.
