Spain have a generational talent on their hands in Marco Asensio, a player who is able to get fans on their feet and is able to create danger whenever he has the ball.

The 22-year-old had a very good game against Argentina on Tuesday night, playing the full 90 minutes, as Spain won 6-1 at the Wanda Metropolitano, following on from the 1-1 draw away at Germany on Friday where Asensio came on as a second half substitute.

“I have not seen anyone like you since Messi,” Zidane once told the midfielder from Majorca, as he was convinced of his talents.

Spain has never had a player with the ability to overcome the opposition with their speed, while maintaining complete control of the ball at the same time; he is unique in his qualities and he must be looked after in order to ensure he reaches his maximum potential.

Asensio is on course to be a superstar and against Argentina he demonstrated his talent, showing his speed, overlapping runs and the ability to link up with his teammates, something that both Isco and Diego Costa could certify.

The Madrid player looks set to play a big role at the World Cup in Russia. Having come in for David Silva against Argentina, he showed that he can play in multiple positions with Julen Lopetegui playing him on the right in the first half.

There are few players who run at defenders nowadays, but Asensio is one who loves to do so.

He has the goal and the counter-attack in his head as soon as he gets the ball, as Javier Mascherano was able to verify in the game on Tuesday night.
