Transfer-linked Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski has today spoken out on the rumours that he could be set for a summer switch to Spanish giants Real Madrid.

World-class
Prolific hitman Lewandowski is regarded by many as being one of, if not the finest centre-forward in world football, backed by his incredible tally of 104 goals in 123 Bundesliga outings since joining Bayern Munich from Borussia Dortmund in 2014.
Lewandowksi’s goalscoring exploits are not confined to the German top-flight, though, with the 29-year-old also prolific in the Champions League, and having found the net on 52 occasions in 93 appearances for the Polish national team.
To this point in the current campaign, ‘Lewy’ has notched 38 goals in 43 outings for Bayern.

Bernabeu bound?
Unsurprisingly, Lewandowski’s sensational exploits at the Allianz Arena have seen the former Lech Poznan man linked with moves to a host of Europe’s other top clubs, with all of Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool, PSG, Real Madrid and more having been touted as potential destinations in the past.

However, it is Real who have long been named as the side expressing the most genuine interest in the Bayern man’s signature, with the board at the Bernabeu reportedly becoming increasingly frustrated by the performances of current first-choice centre-forward Karim Benzema.
Bayern themselves moved to put an end to any and all suggestions that they could part with their star striker this summer with an official statement at the start of the month, in which the Bavarians claimed that there was ‘absolutely no chance’ of Lewandowksi departing.
Staying put
Nevertheless, as is so often the case with transfer rumours, the links between the Polish hitman and Real have continued to persist, despite Bayern’s protestations, with outlets in Spain still adamant that a transfer could in fact take place.
But, speaking in an interview with Polskie Radio earlier today, Lewandowski himself was questioned on the rumours that he is set for the Spanish capital, with the former 29-year-old quick to reassure fans of his current club:
‘Am I thinking about Real in terms of a transfer? No, not at all.’
