Diario AS has made a bold claim that it’s Lionel Messi himself who is luring Griezmann to the Camp Nou stadium.
According to the report, Messi is reported to have called Griezmann personally to offer reassurances that he will be welcomed with open arms in the dressing room. The fact there are already plenty of the attacking players shouldn’t discourage him.
Moreover, Barcelona are willing to send Ousmane Dembele away on a loan deal which would pave way for his fellow countryman.
The Barcelona-based newspaper Diario Sport has previously reported that Griezmann is expected to sign a 5-year contract to earn €15m per season after tax, the same as Luis Suarez.
Atletico tried to convince Griezmann to stay by reportedly offering him €20m per season contract, but the Frenchman rejected the new deal.
Griezmann is rumoured to officially inform Atletico of his decision to leave after their final game of the season against on Sunday. Blaugrana will have to decide when to pay Griezmann €100m release clause, now or after the World Cup.
