Florentino Perez and his Real Madrid directors are not wasting any time as they respond to Zinedine Zidane’s decision to step down as coach, with the club having already contacted Mauricio Pochettino.
He is the first candidate they have reached out to, as he is top of their list.
Los Blancos are keen to know as soon as possible if the Argentine would be interested in taking over at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.
As has already been published on MARCA, Pochettino’s new Tottenham contract does not specifically have a clause allowing him to leave for Real Madrid, but there is an agreement in place with chairman Daniel Levy that would allow him to negotiate with the Spanish club if he wishes to.
