Real Madrid could be able to announce the signing of Thibaut Courtois in the coming days, if reports out of the goalkeeper’s homeland are to be believed.

With the player’s family living in the Spanish capital, where he enjoyed a long loan spell with Atletico, it has long seemed logical that he would seek to play in the city once again.

According to Het Laatste Nieuws, Courtois is nearing an agreement over personal terms with Real, his wage amounting to 13 million euros gross per year.

Furthermore, the deal could be announced shortly now that the keeper’s World Cup campaign is over, although a fee would need to be agreed with Chelsea.

Maurizio Sarri has only just been installed as the Blues new boss but Courtois’ contract is up at the end of the season.
