Former Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane has hinted that he is ready to return to work as a coach in the near future.
The former French midfielder is unemployed since summer after having resigned from the position of Real Madrid coach at the end of last season, in which he managed to secure his team the third consecutive title of the Champions League.
But now he plans to return to work as coach soon, he has not shown where his next club will be.
“Yes, of course, I’ll be back soon because it’s something I like and something I’ve done all my life,” Zidane told Spanish TVE.
This summer, it was reported that Zidane is the most likely candidate to replace Jose Mourinho in Manchester United. Even the Spanish media reported last month that he had told his friends that he would expect an official offer from the “Red Devils” if they decide to sack Jose Mourinho.
Mourinho is under pressure at Manchester United and his position as coach in this club is not secure since the pre-season tournament as well as after the Premier League defeats. After three matches in the English league, the “Red Devils” started the season with the worst record in the last 26 years. Moreover, during the transfer window he had some problems with the board of the club.
In an article by The Mirror, it was reported that Zidane was already preparing for his career at Old Trafford after making a list of the players he wants to have at Manchester United. Toni Kroos, Thiago Alcantara, James Rodriguez and Edinson Cavani are said to be some of the players wanted by Zidane if he officially becomes Manchester United manager.
