Fiorentina goalkeeper Alban Lafont looks forward to facing Juventus – “I dream of saving a Cristiano Ronaldo penalty”.
The Viola face arguably their biggest game of the season on Saturday evening, as they welcome the Old Lady to the Stadio Artemio Franchi.
It will be the first time the French youngster has played in the fixture, and he spoke about the game in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport.
“I dream of saving a penalty from Cristiano Ronaldo and seeing Fiorentina get the points against Juventus,” Lafont said.
“I need to be attentive though, because Juve aren’t just Ronaldo, there are a lot of other dangers for a goalkeeper.
“There’s [Miralem] Pjanic and his shots from outside the box, then the shots of [Paulo] Dybala and [Mario] Mandzukic.
“Juve can win the Scudetto and Coppa Italia double, but they’re not the only favourite in Europe.”
Lafont was also asked about which ‘keepers inspired him.
“My role models are [Hugo] Lloris and [Steve] Mandanda, then I have a weakness for [Manuel] Neuer and [Gigi] Buffon. Buffon is a legend of world football.”
