Barcelona star Lionel Messi took part in a promotional event for one of the brands he gives his image to in the Catalan city on Thursday. After taking part in the presentation, Messi answered a number of questions from the guests, who discovered the more personal side of the player.

Among other things, Messi declared his love for the city of Barcelona, but he also revealed the positive side of his recent spell on the sidelines through injury. Messi broke a bone in his arm and missed four games but he found ways to spend his time.

” It was a good experience because I was able to share some big games with my son,” Messi said. “I’d never been able to do that because I am always playing. I enjoyed it a lot. That’s what it’s about, forming a good team. The great teams are the ones that win big things, because as many good individuals as you have, if you don’t have a good team, it’s difficult to win the big things.”

Messi commented that “I came to Barcelona when I was 13 and have spent more than half my life in this country. It’s a city that I love. My three sons were born here. I am really happy to play for Barcelona to live in the city of Barcelona. I’ve been doing this since I was a kid, it’s my passion, what I most liked doing as a kid and I enjoy it now like everyone does who likes their job.”

As for the game against PSV Eindhoven, Messi admitted that Barça were not at their best but added that “there are games and there are games. Sometimes you can, sometimes you can’t. Thanks to God we were able to win the game, which was the objective.”

Finally, Messi said that “day-to-day, in work, it’s normal that all people have tough moments. That’s life. You have to get back up and enjoy what you do.”
