Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City squad have vowed to pay for coach travel ahead of next month’s FA Cup final.

City’s stars are footing the bill for 26 supporter buses making the trip down to Wembley on May 18 when they take on Watford.

Guardiola’s side are gunning to complete a domestic Treble and captain Vincent Kompany revealed the gesture has been made by way of gratitude for support this season.

‘Travelling to so many games in league and cup competitions, both home and away, is not easy to do and is something that every player in our squad values and appreciates,’ Kompany said.

‘The support from our fans throughout the season has been nothing short of incredible.’

City say they will look to provide additional coaches should there be a demand.

Kompany also paid tribute to City’s fans following Champions League elimination at the hands of Tottenham on Wednesday night. Guardiola had called on the club’s supporters to prove they wanted to their team to succeed in Europe.

‘Although the result was not the one that we had hoped for, it was very special to hear our fans in full voice for ninety minutes backing the team,’ Kompany added.

‘We still have so much to fight for this season, and this is our way of saying thank you to them for being with us every step of the way.’
