Gareth Bale and James Rodriguez didn’t train again on Friday and Zidane has admitted they’re not in a state to play.

“It’s not that they’re injured, they’re not available to play,” Zidane said.

“They’re going to go off with their national teams and then they have five or six days… we’ll see if they’re ready to play with their national teams.

“They’ve done some work on the grass, but they haven’t worked with the team.

“Then they’ll have six days to see if they [can] play… or not.

“When you don’t train with the team, you can’t play.

“It’s they who decide whether they train with the team and they’re still missing something in order to do this.”

Marcelo is another member of Zidane’s squad who is an injury doubt to play against Eibar.

“I’m not going to tell you what [injury] he has because I don’t have permission,” Zidane said.

“It’s a little thing and we’re a bit calmer.”

Rodrygo Goes and Fede Valverde have been revelations in the Real Madrid team in recent weeks and their boss is impressed.

“They don’t surprise me. They’re here for this,” Zidane said.

“Each time they play, they prove their worth.”
