Inter are planning a summer assault for Real Madrid midfielder James Rodriguez, reports La Repubblica.

James had been linked with Napoli throughout the summer, only for Los Blancos to price them out of a deal.

Now, La Repubblica claims the Colombian wants to leave the Santiago Bernabeu and that Inter are a possible destination, along with Paris Saint-Germain.

Arsenal were also reported to have made an approach, but this was rejected by the player.

The Nerazzurri, according to the Roman daily, will make an effort to sign the 28-year-old in June, as opposed to January.

However, Madrid would be demanding €50m for a player who has made just nine appearances in all competitions this season.

James had spent the last two seasons on loan at Bayern Munich but opted to return to the Spanish capital as opposed to make a permanent move to Germany.
