Officially there will be no fans at the Allianz Arena for the derby between Bayern and Barcelona

The Blaugrana already have the attention on their trip to Munich, in the meeting that takes place a little over a week from now.

Barça enters the game with the attempt to win, but also watching from the duel between Benfica against Dynamo Kyiv in the last round of the group stage.

In the home game against Bayern, Barça lost 3-0, and while many things have changed since then, including the head coach, the Catalans know they have a tough match in their hands to get a positive result in Munich .

However, they may have received little help for this derby.

This morning, it was confirmed by the Prime Minister of Bavaria, Markus Söder, that there will be no fans in the stadiums for the coming weeks due to the new variant of the coronavirus, Omicron.

That means there will be no Bayern fans – or indeed Barça – for next week’s Champions League match, and in theory, that should make things at least a little easier for the players. Xavi Hernandez
