The jersey of the Catalan giant Barcelona will not be worn by the Dutch striker Luuk de Jong next season.
After a one-year loan from Sevilla, De Jong’s contract will not be redeemed and he ended the episode at the Catalan club today.
He said goodbye to the fans and the club with a message on social networks.
“This was a special period. “I wish you all the best for the future,” said Luke de Jong.
Although he was generally not in the foreground, Luke de Jong often knew how to bring liveliness to Barcelona’s game from the bench, scoring a total of seven goals in 29 games.
The Dutchman is tied for Sevilla until the summer of next year, and we will see if he will play for this club at all in the new season.
Besides Barcelona and Sevilla, Luke de Jong has previously played for PSV, Newcastle, Borussia Monchengladbach, Twente and De Graafschap.
