Brazilian footballer Dani Alves has been arrested after being accused of sexually abusing a woman in Barcelona. The violence for which he is accused happened last December 30, in Sutton, a club in the Catalan city, the police informed the Associated Press. Alves, writes “Mundo Deportivo”, handed himself over to the law enforcement this Friday morning. After issuing a statement, the Brazilian footballer left the police station in a police car a few minutes after 10 am, to go to the seat of the Court in Barcelona.
The girl, who was with some friends partying in a nightclub in the Catalan city, told the police that the 39-year-old had touched her private parts without her permission. Accompanied by her friends, the girl reported the incident to the security personnel of the discotheque, who activated the protocol regarding the matter, communicating it to the police.
The football player’s staff denied the incident, confirming that Dani Alves was at the club for only a short time and nothing happened there. Alves currently plays with the Mexican club Pumas.
