Atletico Madrid has formalized the purchase of Memphis Depay. “Colchoneros” reached the agreement with Barcelona on the basis of 3 million euros, while the Dutch striker has signed until 2025 with the new club.
The agreement between the two Iberian clubs includes a preferential but non-binding purchase option for player Yannick Carrasco from Barcelona for an amount of around 20 million euros.
The 28-year-old was also wanted by Inter, but chose not to leave La Liga. The adventure at “Camp Nou” did not go as he thought, the attacker played only four games this season, while he scored the only goal in the 3-0 success against Elches.
Depay counts 86 games and 43 goals with the Dutch national team. The player completed his medical on Thursday and is looking forward to his debut with Atletico Madrid, the team he goes to to replace Joao Felix, who is on loan at Chelsea in the Premier League.
