The elimination in the group stage of the World Cup in Qatar was very difficult for the players of Uruguay. Experienced Edinson Cavani, Diego Godin, Fernando Muslera and Jose Jimenez were bitter in their reactions after the match, so UEFA decided to punish them. Muslera and Jimenez received suspensions of four games each, while Godin and Cavani will be suspended for one game each.

Also, all suspended footballers will have to perform community service related to football and together they will pay a fine of up to 20,000 Swiss francs. Uruguay’s football federation will pay a fine of 50,000 Swiss francs for the behavior of fans and staff members.
