Chelsea have agreed with Mauricio Pochettino to become their new coach, after a very disappointing season, writes Fabrizio Romano.

The details of the agreement are expected to be finalized in the coming days.

Pochettino will take with him assistants Jesus Perez, Miguel D’Agostino, Toni Jimenez and son Sebastiano Pochettino who will join him at Stamford Bridge.

Pochettino will work with Chelsea’s sporting directors and Frank Lampard, who is the interim manager, before the end of the season.

The Argentine has been out of football since leaving his role with Paris Saint-Germain.

Pochettino rose to prominence at Espanyol and Southampton, before a hugely successful spell with Chelsea’s London rivals Tottenham.

He helped Tottenham qualify for the top four in four consecutive seasons, as well as leading them to a first Champions League final in 2019.

Chelsea have had an extremely difficult season with Potter and Thomas Tuchel paying the price with their jobs.
