Manchester United have offered Napoli centre-back Kim Min-jae a ‘colossal’ contract offer in a bid to lure him to Old Trafford in the summer.
The South Korean giants have a release clause in his current contract with Napoli worth €60 million, which teams outside Italy will be able to activate in the summer.
Amid interest from the League, particularly Erik ten Hag’s United and Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool, as well as Paris Saint-Germain, Kim has reportedly resisted Napoli’s attempts to remove the release clause from his contract.
Now, it has been confirmed by Footmercato’s Sebastian Denis that a meeting between Kim’s entourage and representatives from Old Trafford took place a few weeks ago and United revealed they would be willing to offer a huge deal to bring in the Serie A champions in England.
Although no official figures have been released, the report claims that United are prepared to offer the 26-year-old a transfer
United are also said to be able to offer Kim an almost guaranteed place in the starting line-up, with captain Harry Maguire’s future at the club uncertain and Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane prone to picking up the occasional injury.
If Napoli were to let Kim go, they would receive a substantial return on their original €18m investment paid to Fenerbahce last summer.
