Joao Felix did not want to leave Chelsea, even though his future remains in doubt.
The Portuguese striker joined Chelsea on loan from Atletico Madrid in January this year, but after the end of the Premier League season, he should return to the Spanish city.
Chelsea had paid 11 million euros for his simple loan for six months, but now have to start new talks with Atletico about his final purchase.
The 23-year-old has scored three goals in 18 games with the Chelsea shirt, until he declared that he wants to stay in London.
“I would like to continue to stay at Chelsea. As for my future, I still don’t know it, but I can say that these months in London I have been happy”, declared Felix.
Atletico Madrid is ready to allow the departure of the Portuguese from the Wanda Metropolitano if an offer of 80 million euros comes.
However, Newcastle United have also shown interest in the Portuguese representative, who are ready to compete with Chelsea to win his services.
