Pavard want to leave Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich defender Benjamin Pavard is said to once again be interested in a move away from Bavaria this summer.

According to Sky Deutschland, the French defender has asked Bayern to listen to offers for him this summer after rejecting the latest contract renewal offer.

His contract expires in 2024 and Bayern will have to decide whether to sell him this summer or lose him for free next summer.

Pavard was thought to be looking for a move away last September after falling out with manager Julian Nagelsmann, but it appears he is still unconvinced by the prospect of remaining at Bayern.

The 27-year-old right-back has the approval of Barcelona’s technical staff, but the tricky bit will be negotiations with Bayern, who are said to want €35m for him – a fee Barcelona feel is inflated.

Pavard, who has also been linked with Real Madrid recently, has someone, possibly agent Pini Zahavi, interested in either increasing the terms of a new Bayern contract or seeing him leave.

If Barcelona were to sign Pavard, he would likely be a slight upgrade on Kounde on the right-back, although it has been rumored that like Kounde, he would prefer to play in central defence.
