Milan are said to be in advanced talks with Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan, who is available as a free agent from July 1.
The German’s contract expires at the end of June and according to Il Corriere dello Sport, the Rossoneri have opened talks with the experienced midfielder.
Barcelona are also negotiating with the 32-year-old, but according to the Italian newspaper, Milan are in ‘advanced talks’ with the former Borussia Dortmund star.
Journalist Fabio Mandarini wrote in today’s edition (Saturday) that the Reds and Blacks are “sure” that Gundogan will be transferred to San Siro this summer.
However, the German midfielder will make a decision on his future after next week’s Champions League final against Inter in Istanbul.
Arsenal has also expressed interest in Gundogan, while a renewal with City is not excluded.
Milan announced Rafael Leao’s contract extension on Friday and have already secured their first two signings for next season, with Daichi Kamada and Marco Sportiello joining the club on free transfers in July.
