The Spanish club, Real Madrid, has officially announced the departure of the attacking midfielder, Marco Asensio.
After seven seasons with Los Blancos, Asensio has decided to leave Real Madrid when his contract expires.
It is the royal club itself that has announced the departure of Asensio, wishing him luck in his career or in the new club.
“Real Madrid would like to express its gratitude and love for Marco Asensio, a player who has defended our crest and shirt for seven seasons.”
“He arrived at Real Madrid when he was only 20 years old and has managed to enter the history of our club as part of a team that played in one of our most successful periods.”
“Marco Asensio has won 17 titles with Real Madrid: 3 Champions Leagues, 4 Club World Cups, 3 European Super Cups, 3 La Liga, 1 Copa del Rey and 3 Spanish Super Cups.”
“We Madridistas will never forget his exemplary career and behavior throughout this time. “Real Madrid is and will always be his home and we wish him and his family luck in this new phase,” the statement said.
Asensio has recently been linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain and Aston Villa, with the French believed to be favourites.
