Over the past few weeks, the big transfer story surrounding Real Madrid has involved Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe.
Paris Saint-Germain have recently put the 24-year-old, who has been heavily linked with Los Blancos, up for sale following his decision not to sign a new contract.
The French club are determined to sell Mbappe this summer, although Real Madrid would prefer to sign him as a free agent next summer.
The situation is sure to come to a head in the coming weeks, and there are growing reports that a deal could be done now instead.
Carlo Ancelotti has been tight-lipped on the matter, as was Dani Carvajal when asked about Mbappe after Real Madrid’s 3-0 loss to Barcelona in El Clasico.
“We are the ones who are here. We are not talking about Mbappe or anyone else. We are Real Madrid and we are talking about Real Madrid,” Carvajal told AS.
Speculation will certainly continue about Real Madrid’s interest in Mbappe, but for now, neither Ancelotti nor any member of his first team is giving anything away.
