Marcus Rashford has admitted he considered leaving Manchester United last summer.

He said that the arrival of Erik ten Hag as coach changed his attitude.

“Before the coach (Ten Hag) came, maybe I had some fluctuations, but it’s football, it happens”, declared the 25-year-old.

“Everything will happen for a reason and he came to the club at the right time for me, the timing worked.”

Under Ten Hag, Rashford hit 30 goals – the first time a United player had done so since Robin van Persie a decade earlier.

Before last season, he had poor stats under Ralf Ragnick and Solskjaer, who failed to get the best out of him.
