FC Barcelona announced on Wednesday afternoon the transfer of Franck Kessie to Al-Ahli of Saudi Arabia.
The sale of the midfielder will enrich Barcelona for 12.5 million euros, important funds for the Catalan club.
Despite the fact that the two clubs had already agreed for days and the footballer yesterday completed his medical examination in Paris, Al-Ahli requested that his announcement be postponed for a few days.
Barça released a statement today explaining that: “FC Barcelona and Al-Ahli SC have reached an agreement for the transfer of Franck Kessie for 12.5 million. FC Barcelona publicly expresses its gratitude to Franck Kessie for his commitment and dedication and wishes him luck and success in the future.”
At the same time, the Saudi club has made public the approach of Franck Kessie, who will sign for the next three seasons.
Kessie leaves Barça just one year after arriving as a free agent from AC Milan, while playing a total of 43 official matches and scoring three goals.
The midfielder will be in a team with names like Roberto Firmino, Riyad Mahrez and Saint Maxim.
