Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone has spoken for the first time after receiving an offer a few weeks ago from Saudi Arabian Super League club Al Ahli.
The Saudi Arabian Super League is the most active in the summer transfer window, acquiring big name players from all major leagues.
Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kante, Roberto Firmino, Kalidou Koulibaly and Riyad Mahrez are just some of the names transferred this summer.
However, Saudi clubs are also thinking about big coaches to strengthen the championship even more.
The Al Ahli side were reported to have made a huge offer of over 100 million a season for Atletico Madrid’s Diego Simeone, but this was rejected by the Argentine.
Now, after a few weeks, it is Simeone himself, who has spoken about the offer and whether he hesitated to accept it.
“Did the Saudi offer make me hesitate? No, the truth is, I’m very happy where I am. I am very happy to be at Atletico,” Simeone initially told Marca.
“I did not hesitate with the offer from Saudi Arabia, even if they increase it. I am happy at Atletico”, concluded the Argentinian coach.
