Real Madrid had a complete squad and were only waiting for Kylian Mbappe who had yet to arrive, but is now almost forced to return in the transfer window after goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has suffered a serious injury.

The Belgian injured his anterior cruciate ligament this morning and needs surgery.

He will miss more than six months and for this Florentino Perez must enter the transfer window to find a new goalkeeper.

These are some of the candidates who can fill Courtois’ place.

David De Gea

32 years

The Manchester United goalkeeper is currently free after leaving Old Trafford this summer. He was with Real Madrid many years ago as a replacement for Iker Casillas, but he was forgotten with the famous fax episode. Will the deal close this time?

David Soria

30 years

Getafe’s starting goalkeeper already looked at the beginning of the summer as a reinforcement for the goal, but Lunini’s ‘not leaving’ stopped his arrival. Now it could be a good temporary option that Real Madrid would agree to in exchange for around 10 million euros.

Kepa Arrizabalaga

28 years

Another of the goalkeepers who was touted at the time to play for Real Madrid but ended up leaving for Chelsea where he now looks set to leave for Bayern Munich. But the created situation can put him under the ‘magnifying glass’ of Real Madrid.

Hugo Lloris

36 years

The French goalkeeper is a veteran goalkeeper and has a lot of experience at the top level. He captained world champions France in Russia and has a year left on his contract in London, so wouldn’t cost too much.

Keylor Navas

36 years

The veteran goalkeeper from Costa Rica could return to Real Madrid after his golden era in which he won the Champions League three times in a row. He knows the house and, as a temporary option, he can easily fit into the team.

Dominik Livakovic

28 years

He is one of the goalkeepers who have been mentioned to be transferred to La Liga. The Croatian goalkeeper, a leader in his team, would be an option with a guarantee of around 10 million euros as he has one year left on his contract.

Bono

32 years

The Sevilla goalkeeper is wanted by half of Europe and now with Courtois injured, Madrid could be interested in him. His recent World Cup with Morocco gives him arguments to be a good signing. Its price would be around 12 million euros.

Giorgi Mamardashvili

22 years

The newest option on the list, but proven after a very good season at Valencia. The Georgian would have an initial price of around 25 million euros
