Arsenal have officially confirmed the transfer of goalkeeper David Raya from Brentford on loan until the end of the 2023/24 season.
The London club is interested in strengthening the team even more to fight for the title this season in the Premier League.
After finishing last season in second place, Mikel Arteta’s team made big transfers like Declan Rice, Kai Havertz and Jurrien Timber.
However, the club’s leaders from the Emirates have taken care to create competition in goal as well, taking the Spaniard Raya from Brentford.
It is the London club itself that has confirmed the loan of Raya for one season with the option of purchase, while it has not published other details.
“Spanish international goalkeeper David Raya has joined us from Brentford on a season-long loan. As part of the deal, there is an option to make the move permanent,” Arsenal said in a statement.
However, English media reports that Arsenal have paid three million pounds (3.5 million euros) on loan, with an option to buy for 27 million pounds (31.5 million euros).
