In just one year: Chelsea overtakes La Liga in spending – closes in on Bundesliga

Chelsea is not stopping with transfers this summer either, while the amount of their expenses keeps increasing.

The London club is even competing against the leagues, surpassing the expenses of some of them.

Recently, Chelsea have completed the transfer of Moises Caicedo from Brighton for 133 million euros, taking their spending in just one year to 934 million euros.

However, the London club has reached an agreement with Southampton for Romeo Lavia, which will cost 69 million euros.

With this transfer of the Belgian, Chelsea exceeds the figure of one billion euros for the last three transfer periods.

Todd Boehly and the other co-owners of the London club seem to have no intention of stopping, as they are already approaching Michael Olisen from Crystal Palace for the figure of 40 million euros.

Therefore, with these expenses, Chelsea surpasses La Liga, which has so far spent 894 million euros for a year.

The Blues are escaping punishment from UEFA and the Premier League thanks to the long-term contracts being offered to players, spreading the transfer fee over years, the highest in nine years.
