Liverpool got their first win for the 2023/24 edition in the Premier League, after a 1-1 draw with Chelsea in the first round.
The Reds triumphed 3-1 at Anfield over Bournemouth in a game of many twists and turns.
The first to take the lead were the guests, who scored in the third minute through Semenyo, who was assisted by Dominik Solanke.
But, Liverpool equalized the numbers at 1-1 with the goal of Luis Diaz (28′), reviving his team in the offensive part.
In the 36th minute, the locals won a penalty, which Mohamed Salah failed to convert into a goal at first, while he put it into the net from the returned ball.
That was the end of the first half, until in the second there was a red card and a goal.
Liverpool were down to ten men when Alexis Mac Allister was shown a straight red card for a tackle in the 58th minute.
However, this did not affect their tempo, as in the 62nd minute, Diogo Jota scored for 3-1.
After the second round, Liverpool have collected four points, while in the fourth week they will have work with Newcastle United.
