The first to take the lead were the guests, who scored in the third minute through Semenyo, who was assisted by Dominik Solanke.

But, Liverpool equalized the numbers at 1-1 with the goal of Luis Diaz (28′), reviving his team in the offensive part.

In the 36th minute, the locals won a penalty, which Mohamed Salah failed to convert into a goal at first, while he put it into the net from the returned ball.

That was the end of the first half, until in the second there was a red card and a goal.

Liverpool were down to ten men when Alexis Mac Allister was shown a straight red card for a tackle in the 58th minute.

However, this did not affect their tempo, as in the 62nd minute, Diogo Jota scored for 3-1.

After the second round, Liverpool have collected four points, while in the fourth week they will have work with Newcastle United.
