Ronald Araujo is expected to return on September 18 or 19, the date when Barcelona’s first match in the Champions League group stage will be played, reports Diario AS.
The centre-back suffered a thigh injury earlier this week. It was previously reported that he would only be ready in the first week of October.
It will still be difficult for Barcelona without their main defender, but at least he will be out for a month, not six weeks as previously reported.

It is also reported that Araujo will be treated in Barcelona despite suggestions that he may fly to Uruguay to recover there.
The defender is the leader of the Catalans in the defensive phase and his absence is felt by Xavi’s team.
The Barcelona coach will be hoping that Araujo is only out for a month and has him available for the start of the Champions League.
