Mason Mount is expected to be sidelined for the next four to six weeks following the injury sustained in the last game.

He suffered a knock during the defeat by Tottenham Hotspur and will be out until at least September 19, writes The Telegraph.

As a result, Mount is expected to miss the upcoming Premier League games against Nottingham Forest, Arsenal and Brighton.

He could also miss the Red Devils’ opening game in the 2023/24 Champions League group stage, which will take place on September 19 or 20.

If Mount fails to recover quickly from injury and ends up out for six weeks, then he could also miss league games against Burnley, Crystal Palace and a Carabao Cup game.

At this point, the best case scenario for Mount is that he misses four games. In the worst case scenario, he will miss up to seven games.

The Englishman’s injury means Scott McTominay is now likely to stay at the club beyond the summer window.
