The summer transfer window closed on Friday night, ending three months of drama and speculation. European clubs spent relatively much, but the Premier League as always had the primacy.

Journalist and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano covered the entire transfer window, and exclusively revealed some big signings.

Speaking to CaughtOffside, Romano identified the top five deals, with three signed by English clubs Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City, and another two signed by Spanish clubs Real Madrid and Barcelona.

“Jude Bellingham to Real Madrid. I think he is an incredible reinforcement for Real Madrid, a fantastic player. They pay big money, but he is a player for the present and the future, and his impact in La Liga has been crazy,” Romano said first.

“Moises Caicedo at Chelsea is the second. I like the deal because the battle with Liverpool was an incredible 48 hours.”

“Congratulations to Liverpool because I have included Dominic Szoboszlai from RB Leipzig in the number three position. It was not an easy negotiation for Liverpool, but they have a top talent, an underrated player who can bring goals, assists, creativity and quality.”

“Number four position, Josko Guardiol at Manchester City. This is a good, history-making quarterback because he is the most expensive quarterback in history. I see him bringing a lot of leadership alongside the likes of Ruben Dias and John Stones. He is a player who has incredible potential.”

“I also wanted to mention a women’s football transfer because it’s about Ona Batlle joining Barcelona from Manchester United. “She was the best right-back in England and one of the most essential players in the Man Utd team,” concluded the transfer expert.
