Inter Miami fans were left disappointed with the absence of Leo Messi in their side’s heavy loss to Atlanta United on Saturday.
The 36-year-old picked up an injury in Argentina’s World Cup qualifier earlier this month, and as a result he missed Inter Miami’s 5-2 defeat to Atlanta United this weekend.
Ever since Messi came to the United States, tickets to watch an Inter Miami game have doubled in price. The cheapest ticket is somewhere around 121.10 euros, and this has caused many fans to remain disappointed by the fact that the Argentine star did not appear in this challenge.
Melkin Hernandez traveled more than 100 kilometers from the city of Columbus with his 6-year-old son to see Messi. He said: “I have not told him that Messi is not here. I couldn’t bring myself to tell him that. I did not tell him that he will not see Messi. He will understand this during the match”.
Messi has started his new adventure in the United States of America very well, scoring 11 goals in 11 games to help them win their first ever trophy in August.
On September 28, Inter Miami will play the final of the “US Open Cup”, and they hope that by then Messi will recover and be ready to play.
