N’Golo Kante opened the account for the Saudi Arabian Super League team, Al Ittihad, with a beautiful goal outside the 16-yard area.
The 32-year-old midfielder, who joined Nuno Espirito Santos’ side in the summer after his contract with English side Chelsea expired, isn’t exactly known for his goalscoring ability.
But the experienced Frenchman has flourished in the attacking phase this season. In fact, Kante has two assists in seven Saudi Super League matches, with the latest coming in a 2-1 win over Al Fateh.
After Moroccan midfielder Marwane Saadane gave the away side a surprise lead on the half-hour mark, Romarinho equalized for Al Ittihad after a superb assist from Kante.
Then, just before the end of the first half, the Frenchman scored the best goal of his career to date – with a rare finish from outside the penalty area.
In goal, Kante grabbed a ball, went past a player before showing his hidden ability to score a super goal.
