Julian Nagelsmann will lead Germany’s national team at Euro 2024 after being named the new coach of the national team following the departure of Hansi Flick.
Nagelsmann has been confirmed by the German Football Association as the new coach of Germany.
The former Bayern Munich coach has signed a contract that runs until the end of July 2024. Sandro Wagner and Benjamin Gluck will work as his assistants with the national team.
“Julian Nagelsmann will lead the German national team at the European Championship next year. The 36-year-old coach signed a contract today at the DFB campus in Frankfurt am Main until July 31, 2024,” the announcement states.
The appointment as coach of the German national team has made Nagelsmann happy, who has described it as something special.
“We have a European championship in our country. This is something special – something that happens every few decades. I submit everything to the fact of having a big tournament in a big country.”
“I have a great desire to take on this challenge. The appearance in Dortmund was the beginning. We will be a close-knit group next year,” said Nagelsmann.
