Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies is in talks over a new contract, and he could hardly have found a better time to recapture his form in the Bundesliga. At best, there is a strong case to be made that he has no challengers in his position.
His agent, Nedal Huoseh, has been open about the fact that the Canadian has good relations within the Real Madrid squad and the fact that the German side have yet to put a strong offer on the table.
The Spanish club have been lurking in the background for some time now, and with none of their current options turning it on, it wouldn’t be a surprise if they made a move at some point.
The situation is likely to become clear in the coming months: Davies’ contract runs out in 2025, and so Bayern will either want to complete a deal before next summer, or consider a sale, reports Fabrizio Romano.
“The decisive part here is Bayern. “Bayern will offer Alphonso a new deal, but there are a lot of changes on the board, new directors, they need clarity internally and then they will discuss the new deal with Davies,” he explained exclusively to the column its in Substack.
“This will be the key point to understand whether he signs a new contract or perhaps wants to try a new challenge in the Premier League or La Liga in 2024.”
