According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea are planning talks with Conor Gallagher over his long-term future.
The midfielder is entering the final 18 months of his current contract with the Blues – and the London club have been noted for their determination to avoid such situations since Todd Boehly took over the club.
Chelsea are actually happy with Gallagher’s form. The 23-year-old has started all but one game this season, captaining the side in the absence of Reece James and Ben Chilwell.
Mauricio Pochettino is also an apparent supporter of Gallagher, who was keen to keep him even though Chelsea were open to accepting offers from West Ham and Tottenham in the summer.
However, it seems that the midfielder will be faced with a choice: either sign a new long-term contract or be sold.
He is naturally expected to renew, because he is an academy player and is very happy with his treatment at the club.
