Paris Saint-Germain star Xavi Simons is attracting interest from Manchester City and Barcelona after an impressive start to the season with Leipzig.

The Dutch midfielder has already become an integral part of Leipzig’s squad, having joined the German club on loan for the 2023/24 season.

So far, he has scored three goals and made four assists in the German football elite.

Simons’ form has attracted the attention of Barcelona and Manchester City, Spanish media report. Both teams are believed to have been monitoring his progress for some time now and could make a move when his loan ends next summer.

However, PSG have made it clear to the player that they see him as a long-term prospect and have no intention of letting him leave.

The French champions want him to play regularly in a major league in Europe and also in the Champions League before bringing him back into the squad and that’s why a loan move to Leipzig was made possible.

If Simons continues this positive form, it is likely that he will return to the Parc des Princes next summer, which will force Barcelona and City to focus on other targets.
