Five teams want to sign Phillips – the player outside Guardiola’s plans

Calvin Phillips looks set to leave Manchester City in January. The midfielder has struggled for playing time under Pep Guardiola.

Even in the absence of the suspended Rodri in recent weeks, the City manager has turned to teenager Rico Lewis rather than the Englishman.

The former Leeds ace was an unused substitute as the Premier League champions lost 1-0 to Arsenal on Sunday.

According to The Sun Sport, Phillips is likely to leave on loan in January.

Many Premier League teams have shown interest in the English international.

Everton, Newcastle, West Ham, Liverpool and Bayern Munich have shown their interest in the player.

Phillips has played just 70 minutes of City’s opening eight Premier League games this season, failing to start.
